A Letter from the Archivist’s Table

“To catalog the strange is to invite it home.”
— Note found tucked inside a hollow chess piece, Dust & Dawn Inn, Room 7
Greetings, wonder-minded reader.
If you’ve arrived here deliberately, congratulations. You are either extremely well-read, exceptionally curious, or just the right sort of lost.
If you stumbled in by accident — perhaps while searching for dice made from meteorites, or a journal that looks like it belongs to a doomed alchemist — welcome nonetheless. This is Curio Obscura, and it’s precisely the sort of place no one plans to find.
🕮 What Is This Place?
Curio Obscura is a hybrid archive:
- Part catalog of curious products
- Part repository of fictional knowledge
- Part worldbuilding support engine
- And part side room in a much larger house
We review objects both real and imagined — dice, tomes, journals, tools — and explore the stories they carry. Every post is part field report, part lore fragment, part affiliate-supported incantation. That means you’ll find real links to real things — yes, even the pen that looks like it might bite — and also the story underneath.
We aim to blur the lines between product review, poetic artifact, and tabletop utility.
🧠 Why You Might Stay
- You’re a writer, GM, or worldbuilder seeking new tools or inspiration
- You like your affiliate recommendations with a dash of cryptic prose
- You believe dice have memory
- You’ve subscribed to Footnotes from Mr. Faust and regret nothing
- You occasionally whisper “what if this journal was actually haunted?”
- You read the Dust & Dawn Daily before breakfast

🗝️ Final Note
Subscribe to Footnotes from Mr. Faust for monthly dispatches of marginalia, lost lore, rejected archive entries, and literary tomfoolery.
We don’t always publish warnings here. There, we do. Usually.
In the meantime, browse as you please. But if something whispers at you from the sidebar, do not answer it after midnight.
